Khumbu’s people + Himalayas from a helicopter

As an incredibly successful procrastinator I have decided down time in Kathmandu is far better spent sharing photos as opposed to logging video footage, listening to audio and working through pictures. Below are diptychs featuring people and mountains I came across while on assignment  last week.

There were many firsts for me during the last week on assignment in Nepal’s far flung Khumbu region, including my first ever helicopter ride and also having to walk all day between communities, in terms of the later it seems someone has become far too accustomed to vehicles! Walking for 2-5 hours a day in the Khumbu region, home to Mt Everest is a pretty amazing thing, but no matter how epic the surroundings it didnt make it any easier for me attempting to keep up with the light footed Nepalese who literally bounce up the mountains.
